The Cortices Technique
The Cortices Technique is one of the most important techniques in BodyTalk. It can be done on yourself, on another person, or animal. This technique helps shift the body and mind out of shock and fight or flight and into growth and healing. It balances all three brains: the head, heart (the emotional brain), and gut (our core identity, safety and protection brain). It normalizes brain function, balances the left and right sides of the body, and increases communication between the three brains and the rest of your body so that you can heal. If you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, stuck, or are in physical and/or emotional pain, try using this technique to see how it can help you.
When to use the Cortices Technique?
Before Bed to improve sleep by promoting a relaxed state
Upon waking
Before an exam to improve clarity and focus
Before a performance or sports event to improve performance
In a stressful situation
Shock or Trauma
Accident or Injury
Headache
Whenever you want to feel better
More about the Three Brains:
All three brains (Head, Heart, and Gut) have a set of electromagnetic frequencies that play major roles in stabilizing the whole head brain and body.
The Head Brain: master of processes such as thinking, perception, and cognition. It recognizes things, makes meaning of them, and uses language such as “I think”, “I reckon”, or “I understand”.
The Heart Brain: the Emotional brain. What we value and how we feel about relationships and life. Heart based language like “I feel."
The Gut Brain: Our core identity. It is responsible for safety and protection. Important for keeping our immune system healthy. It also takes care of our fear, anxiety, mobility and action. Gut based language includes “it takes guts” or, “let’s do it.”
